Why Work with Financial Aid Professionals?

About Financial Aid Professionals - Why work with us? Photo of The Oval on the campus of The Ohio State University campus.

With multiple options for seeking help with Financial Aid, why should you choose to work with Financial Aid Professionals?

This is a good question, and one we answer a lot, so here are several things that set us apart and make us the best choice for specific, hands on Financial Aid assistance:

  • Experience

The Financial Aid Professionals (FAP) have over 40 years of combined experience in many areas of the Financial Aid industry.

Our Financial Aid Consultants gained this experience by working directly in their areas of expertise at a wide variety of educational institutions.  We have worked at Public Schools, Private Schools and For-Profit Institutions.

Our job duties have included everything from “Front Line”, face to face counseling and triage to behind the scenes Needs Analysis, Verification, Packaging and Scholarship processing to higher level management of staff, Student Athlete accounts and much more.

Moreover, we are willing, and able, to put all of that experience to work directly for you.

We don’t keep our highly experienced Consultants locked high away in a Director’s office, we bring all of our experience and passion right to you and your concerns.

  • We Value and Respect Your Time

In his books, bestselling author, speaker and the inventor of Afformations ®, Noah St. John, says that there are three resources or commodities that we use as human beings.

Those three “Human Resources” are Time, Energy and Money.

While many people may think that energy or money are the most valuable of the three, we believe as Noah St. John does:  Energy is infinite.  Money, an item made up of energy, is, for all intents and purposes, infinite too.  Time, however, is the only Human Resource that can never be replaced.

Your time is valuable and we respect that.

We know that you often have to sacrifice time with your family, at work or on personal endeavors in order to make time to visit or contact your school’s Financial Aid Office, loan lender or other Education Service Provider.

How many times have you experienced long lines and wait times at the Financial Aid Office or just missed someone because they closed before you got there?

How about being on hold for countless minutes or shuffled back and forth among different offices or extensions because “someone else handles that”?

And have you ever felt like you’re being rushed to get in and out of the office as fast as possible?  Like your time is not as valuable as theirs and you’re actually inconveniencing them?

With Financial Aid Professionals, you’ll never have that.

Because we operate on a paid Consultant basis your time is our time and we’ll never rush you.

If you work 9:00 am – 5:00 pm every day and can only meet at 8:00 pm on Tuesdays, we can make that happen.

Your appointment is booked in advance so you will never have to wait to be seen either.  If you are in the Central Ohio area, we can meet you at the time and place that works best for you.

Nothing is more important than your time and, with Financial Aid Professionals, it will never be wasted.

  • Individual and Personal Service

Unlike many schools and loan lenders, we don’t have multiple thousands of clients, a staff of fifteen, twenty or more Financial Aid Advisers or the high turnover rates of a regular office so we can get to know you as an individual and provide the personal, one-on-one attention that you deserve.

Trust us, we’ve worked at those institutions and know how frustrating it can be to come in, time after time, and see a different person who doesn’t know you or your particular needs and then have to explain your life story to them and never really know if they truly understand you.

At FAP, your Financial Aid Consultants will be with you every step of the way and will always provide a personal touch that comes with knowing someone as if they were family.

  • We’ll Keep It Simple

There are over 7,000 colleges and universities in the United States and probably over 7,0002 different ways to explain the intricacies of Financial Aid!

Unfortunately, a lot of confusion can be introduced or inferred when talking with multiple people or schools.

Fortunately, however, the majority of Financial Aid information and processes are fairly universal and is just explained differently by various institutions and advisers.

FAP will give you all of the information and tools that you need to get to the root issues and effectively communicate with any school.

We know you’re not the Financial Aid Professionals so we won’t speak to you like you should be.

You’ve got enough to wade through without having to figure out a new vocabulary system.

If any of these reasons sound good to you and you’ve been frustrated with the traditional, Financial Aid Office, approach to assistance, we’d love to hear from you and help you where others have failed.
